Pihl wins contract for new campus in Aarhus

By building a new campus in Aarhus, VIA will bring together several health care educations of central Jutland, which will facilitate interdisciplinary and cross-functional teamwork between associated educations.

The new campus covering an area of 27,000 m2 will have a capacity of 2,000 students studying to be nurses, physiotherapists, biomedical laboratory technicians, etc. Moreover, the campus will serve as the region’s centre for educational materials and it will also be a centre for courses and further training.

VIA University College is to be completed in three years, and the winning team will start up the design of the 336 M DKK project in September 2008.

VIA University College’s expansion in central Jutland
Via University College is Denmark’s largest college offering professional bachelor’s degree programmes and is a result of a merger between several colleges in central Jutland.

Besides the new campus in Aarhus, Pihl has won the contract for VIA’s new centre for education and entrepreneurship in Horsens, Vitus Bering Innovation Park, together with architects C.F. Møller and consulting engineer Grontmij/Carl Bro.
